NB: The Cambodian Government was not recognised by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGASS) from 1979 to the early 1990's. This is why the Cambodian seat at the UNGASS was held by 'Democratic Kampuchea' until the signing of the Paris Peace Agreement in October 1991 and intervention of the United Nations Advanced Mission in Cambodia (UNAMIC) followed soon after by the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC) resulting in national elections held in May 1993.
The 25 cent United Nations stamps with the flag of Democratic Kampuchea, as seen below, are not formal postage of Cambodia, but are included here as part of this historical record of the development of Cambodia.
